Networking is a Verb not a Noun!

Networking is a Verb Not a Noun

What does that mean? A verb, as described, by our 4th grade teachers, is an action word. A noun is an object or thing. That means that in order to network you must take action ... do stuff ... not just show up at things and be seen. If you go to a chamber meeting and just "be there" then you are a noun ... you are just an object. If you go and actually participate and make things happen ... you are now taking action ... you're a verb.

You are not going to find any form of marketing more important and probably more effective than word-of-mouth marketing (WOMM), in the next 12 to 24 months. That means that no matter what type of marketing campaigns you are doing they will be 5 to 10 times more effective if you are supplementing them with strategic WOMM and networking.

If you are a BNI Member you have an advantage over every other business out there, especially your competitors (unless, of course, they are also members of BNI). You have a group of like-minded people who believe in the development of relationship marketing and sales and practice the Givers Gain philosophy. There is no recesssion for you ... so go take action ... go BE A VERB!

The Day a simple leaky tap that costed me thousands of pounds AND nearly reducing my home to ashes.

A few years ago, our good-old tap on our main bath finally needed replacing.  We found a local plumber through a local business directory and to our surprise; he was quite pleasant and persuaded us that the whole bath needed to be replaced.  

Reluctantly we agreed and got a new bath. When the Plumber started work - taking the old bath out - that's when one disaster led to another.  From intermittent flooding to damaged tiles/wall/etc... and Finally leading to a FIRE while using his blow-torch.

Luckily I was around and took quick action putting the fire Out - while this plumber ran out of the house.

I fired him immediately and called everyone in my family to recommend a decent plumber - only after finding highly recommended plumber, and due to the damage done, we had no choice but to redo the whole bathroom.  

That day - dealing with a stranger - to replace a simple TAP - costed me thousands of pounds, not mention nearly burnt our home down.

After the success of ‘The Art of Mehndi’ Competition 2008, FalMay will be hosting an exciting and spectacular competition in March 2009, and aims to provide opportunities for even more artists to showcase their talent and be crowned the king/queen of Mehndi.

There will be 3 categories Bridal, Fashion and Creative. The artist may enter in as many categories as he/she wishes.

The Artists have the opportunity to display their skills and creativity and receive publicity and acknowledgment for their talent and artistic flair, as well as receiving the title of ‘Mehndi Artist of 2009’ for each of the categories.

This event is in collaboration with FalMay branching out and launching their AllOccasions- Hair, Makeup & Henna services; which will be covered by media and various PR campaigns.

The event will be open for all guests and visitors to attend and watch the artists at work.
